Henry VIII ♥ Anne Boleyn?

I do not think so. Honestly, though I love and respect Her Majesty, I do not think Anne Boleyn was the love of a lifetime for King Henry. My conception of love is the one of Shakespeare’s sonnet 116, and it cannot be seen with Anne and Henry. I think there was a great fire between them, and, though my History teacher said the rupture between England and the Catholic Church was because King Henry wanted to have the possessions of the Church and that the marriage was just an excuse, I do not believe it. If all that the King wanted was a son and the Church’s possessions, he could have married Elizabeth Blount, them he would be the supreme head of the Church and he would have his son. I think he wanted Anne Boleyn so much, that he could not stand it. We can read his letters to her. Someone told me “anyone can write letters”, but they are historical documents, so, they cannot be ignored.

Did anyone already watch Vicky Cristina Barcelona? I think Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII were just like Juan Antonio and María Elena, but a little less dramatic. They were perfect for each other, but they didn’t match, though Anne’s miscarriages and everything else. It is madness?

  3. desireshatteredmirrors answered: No, that arguement makes sense; personally, I feel that if nothing else Anne was Henry equal in all respects.
